DO I NEED ANYTHING ELSE?
Before you use wooden lures, you may want to seal them. This prevents lures from absorbing water and dulling the action. There are several ways you can do this, including a spray-on shellac.
Another helpful item is a set of pliers with a split ring feature. This is a common fishing item. A fisherman should always have a set of pliers in their box, so grab a pair that have the split ring feature.
CAN A KID BUILD A KIT?
Absolutely! We had kids in mind when we designed our kits. Youngsters love creative painting and fishing with their masterpieces! Of course, when dealing with sharp hooks, younger lure builders will need adult help. The treble hooks come covered, so builders of all ages have protection when assembling the lures.
Adults are just kids in a bigger package! More experienced fishermen will enjoy customizing the lures.
HOW DO I KNOW HOW TO PAINT THE LURES?
There is no wrong way to paint our lures. We provide acrylic paint but you can also use hobby paints or spray paints you may already have. Have fun. Try something different. Again, there is no wrong way to do this. Oh yeah, if you don’t like your first design, just paint over it!
WHAT ABOUT SHIPPING?
We make every effort to ship lure making kits within two days of ordering. We ship our lure making kits through USPS First Class and we’ll provide you with the tracking information. Shipping usually takes three to four days.
